Hamish Wyllie

Associate

Hamish originally trained as an actor at the Academy of Live & Recorded Arts in South London, before becoming heavily involved in the world of role-play and drama-based learning. He has 10 years’ worth of experience delivering medical training and assessment scenarios for universities such as Glasgow, Edinburgh, UCL, Imperial College London and St Andrews, as well as for the various medical Royal Colleges. He typically works with complex ethical communication-based dilemmas such as breaking bad news or psychiatric history taking, as well specifically with doctors who may not have English as a first language.

This subsequently grew into a facilitation practice where Hamish now tutors on the various Oxford Medical Training programs covering both Team and Patient Communication, as well as their Teach The Teacher program which provides junior doctors tools from educational psychology to present impactful and memorable lessons, as part of their commitment to continual professional development.

In the legal sector, he’s worked with students on the Professional Legal Practice course at the University of Strathclyde, as an associate of the Scottish Faculty of Advocates supporting their develling program with skills such as cross-examination and jury persuasion, as well as an actor-assessor for KAPLAN for all newly qualified solicitors in England & Wales. He also works with more conventionally corporate issues around having difficult conversations in the workplace and scenarios built around the Equality Act 2010.
In 2021, Hamish completed an ILM Level 7 Certificate in Executive Coaching and completed his coaching hours with the London-based social enterprise Exceptional Individuals, supporting neurodiverse people in to work. Having finished an MSc in Psychology from the University of Glasgow in 2023, Hamish has graduate membership with the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS). He works as a neurodevelopmental practitioner and neurodiversity coach for Psychiatry UK, delivering their online non-pharmacological post-diagnostic pathway and providing consultancy services to organisations to help them be more neuro-inclusive.
He also still finds time to maintain a career as a voiceover artist, having just appeared in the latest series of Roots & Fruits for CBeebies, playing a Mancunian leek.
